EventsThis section provides information on OCHA's work in key intergovernmental forums such as ECOSOC, where OCHA acts as the substantive Secretariat for the organization of the annual Humanitarian Affairs Segment, and the Humanitarian Policy Forum, where OCHA convenes a diverse group of stakeholders including Member States, practitioners, NGOs, some private sector and academia to foster a policy network, discuss priority transformations in humanitarian action and discussing next steps for realizing the Agenda for Humanity in follow-up to the World Humanitarian Summit. This section also provides key information around OCHA's annual World Humanitarian Day (WHD) campaign. Every year on the day - 19 August - we pay tribute to aid workers who risk their lives in humanitarian service, and we mobilize people to advocate for a more humane world.
